Every woman has a story - The Balance Dilemma Podcast is This American [Woman’s] Life with a touch of HIBT [NPR’s How I Built This] – as women, especially mothers, face challenges that typical male-centric advice cannot answer. Podcast hosts Christie Derrico and Maura Carlin focus on women and careers - as entrepreneurs, reinventors, pivoters, creators, executives, parents, or partners. Lean in and lean out may not be the answer, but we can all learn from each other.

Maura is a writer, journalist, podcaster, and recovered litigator who faced a balance dilemma while raising her family. She left law and pivoted. Christie Derrico has been a practicing trial attorney since 1996, managing life as a wife and mother of four. Discussions about their experiences, readings, and research set in motion The Balance Dilemma Podcast, which was launched (originally on radio) at the height of the pandemic, in September 2020.
